Protecting Your Business legal Services
Whether you are setting up a new business or have been running one for a long time, there is always going to be a time when it pays to have some legal advice. At Marlborough Law, we understand this as business owners ourselves and have built up experience helping businesses of all sizes with general legal advice.
This is why we set up our Protect Your Business Service. This is designed to encompass all sizes of business and offers services like contract reviews, telephone support service or help drafting a shareholder agreement.
There are three levels of business legal support for you to choose from depending on your requirements. Our four schemes are Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Bigger packages will include more complex services like document drafting whereas the basic service will be a few hours of support each month.
What is business Legal Protection?
Legal Protection in Business is essential to ensure the smooth operation of your business, especially when something goes wrong or you are making changes. Ensuring your contracts are up to date could mean the difference between success and failure if you don’t know what they contain and what they mean. Getting caught out in a contract dispute if you haven’t done your homework or taken legal advice. With our more in-depth service, we can work through your contracts while you get to spread the cost over the year.
Does my Business Need a Solicitor?
Of course, you do not need a solicitor to run your business and quite a few get by without. There is no legal requirement for it, but it can be very useful. Unfortunately, as you know, some things in business are very unpredictable and you could end up with a large bill if you haven’t done things properly.
If you are setting up a new business or thinking of selling up then a lawyer will help you navigate through the complexities of your contracts and agreements, ensuring you know everything that has been agreed upon before you sign on the dotted line. Selling a business is incredibly complex and not like what you see on Dragons Den, the due diligence is also vital if you are thinking of buying a business.
With our Protect Your Business Service you will have a Lawyer available to call. Depending on the level of service this might be quite a few hours a month and prove very helpful to you to be able to check things and ask for advice.
Why does a small business need a lawyer?
Small business legal requirements vary from one to another depending on the stage of the business and the size. If you are setting up a new business with investors and shareholders it is important to ensure you are all protected especially when there are disagreements or you want to sell the business. You might also want to talk to a lawyer about how to protect yourself from personal liability, and business debts and discover what your legal obligations are.

Is Business Legal Advice Expensive?
Yes, business legal advice can be expensive but it doesn’t have to be. The majority of Law firms will give you half an hour of free advice before they start charging, then the fees can climb rapidly. That is why we created this Protect Your Business Service, to allow businesses of all sizes valuable access to legal advice but be able to spread that cost throughout the year. We can work on your business every month and cover a lot of legal ground in that time, as opposed to a single hit.
