Friendly, local lawyers helping you through all the stages of your life
My introduction
12 October, 2022
I was born in beautiful Blairgowrie, Scotland in 1965. As a child I attended 10 schools including completing my O-Levels in Trinidad, due to my Dad being a flying instructor. I graduated with a BA in Business Administration and Languages from Strathclyde University, and then a Diploma in Marketing. I moved to England in 1986, and after many years in the electronics industry had two beautiful daughters, Rebecca and Charlotte. I married Mike Salmon, a local businessman, and worked as MD of his business interests. In 2005 I decided to change my career path to the legal profession and, having 2 small children and a full-time job, studied for my LLB (Hons) with the Open University, graduating with honours in 2010. For two years I attended the University of Guildford. Twenty hours a week reading and preparation saw me graduate yet again with my Post Graduate Degree in Legal Practice in September 2013. Then, I managed to squeeze a four year part-time legal training contract into 3 ½ years in a local Marlborough practice, which allowed me to be accepted onto the Roll of Solicitors on 15 September 2017.
By that time I knew I wanted to own and run my own legal practice so Marlborough Law Ltd was born. The Bar Standards Board route was hard and it took us six months to get our licence to practise but it has been worth it. We are the only firm licenced outside of London and the only firm who do not have a barrister in house. We now have three lawyers and support staff covering Marlborough and Hungerford from local offices.
